Revolutionary Cultural Front's status.

Condemn the attack on Kabir Kala Manch activists and students of FTII, Pune by fascist ABVP lumpens!

Revolutionary culture and freedom of expression long live!

Yesterday (August, 21) the students of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) had organized a cultural programme, where they had invited the members of Kabir Kala Manch, a revolutionary cultural organization to perform, along with the screening of the film Jai Bhim Comrade. After the programme the fascist lumpen brigade of ABVP, attacked the performers and organizers with sticks and helmets and grievously injured four people, two activists of KKM and two of the organizers who had to be hospitalized. The programme was organized in memory of Narendra Dabholkar, a committed activist of the anti-superstition movement, who was murdered a day before, by the same right wing fascists.
It is well known how Kabir Kala Manch activists are being regularly hounded by the state, who falsely alleges that KKM has ‘Maoist links.’ The Kabir Kala Manch is a radical Ambedkarite cultural organization, which is vocal against caste atrocities and the brahminical social order and with their songs, poetries and plays they relentlessly propagate against the anti-people policies and the malicious ‘development’ model of the state, the caste based discriminations and atrocities and advocate for annihilation of caste, land to the tiller and democratic rights of people. For this they have been branded as a ‘Maoist frontal organization’, and four of its activists Deepak Dengle, Siddharth Bhosle, Sheetal Sathe and Sachin Mali have already faced arrests, intimidation and harassment. In a recent landmark judgment however, the Maharashtra High Court observed that the activities of KKM far from being a crime is commendable. But despite this, the witch-hunting of KKM members continues. And yesterday’s incident shows how the state is using its vigilante gangs like ABVP, to harass and intimidate the revolutionary cultural activists of KKM. All democratic and progressive forces must condemn this fascist assault and stand in solidarity with KKM.
